Audacity is a versatile and user-friendly audio editor and recorder for multiple platforms. It offers an array of features for editing and recording audio across multiple tracks. Currently, the project is undergoing significant structural changes, with the development of Audacity 4, which includes a new user interface and refactoring. The master branch is not particularly friendly to new contributors, but patches for Audacity 3.x can still be submitted.
